Joanne Kaplan has worked in hearing care for over 10 years. She began as a Patient Care Coordinator and in 2006, Joanne earned her Dispensing License while also working toward her Associate’s Degree in Business. Joanne practices in our Randolph, NJ and Parsippany, NJ offices.

Excellent experience with audiologist, Joanne! She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and quickly put at ease my nervous, elderly mom. Though we were shown a hearing aide, there were no high pressure sales (unlike Miracle Ear). In the end, Mom purchased an AI hearing aide which is working far beyond her expectations! She can now hear us talking in a crowded restaurant, hear the pastor's sermon, hear in the car, hear her great grandchildren... Thank you, Joanne, for your expertise, sunny personality and for making a difference in mom's life!

I have been going to American hearing centers in Mountain Lakes and Randolph for several years now. Joanne has always been the professional Hearing Aid specialist who is taken care of me. She is wonderful. She tunes up my hearing aids and gives me great advice, but there’s one thing that I like about Joanne. She truly understands my needs and speaks loud enough and clearly, so that I can see and hear her without my hearing aids in while my aids are being worked on . This saves me from embarrassment or confusion that would happen without a professional understands me. Thank you, Joanne and thank you American Hearing center.

I spoke to someone there this morning, who said she is new there. I had an appointment that she canceled last minute, I have a referral from my insurance company to go there for a hearing examination, can’t understand. They need to have understanding workers see that they are dealing with people who have hearing issues

Disappointing. First of all, they tricked me into thinking I needed to pay them $500 more than my insurance covered. I am still working on that, but it is so frustrating to be deceived. Secondly, the adjustments just have not been good. I have gone back so many times and the $5,000 hearing aids (for which they charged me $5,500) are sitting in a drawer while I use the $500 ones that I can adjust myself which are so much better than what was done at this location. I don't think it is a problem with the hearing aids. They just are not adjusted well. Buyer beware.

The ladies at the American Hearing center in Mountain Lakes, NJ were very polite and attentive. The Audiologist explained everything clearly and answered all questions. I've been using hearing aids for 5-6 years but I must state the new Phonak's I purchased are phenomenal. I spend a fair amount of time outdoors hiking, bicycling, etc and the first time I was hiking with new Phonak's I heard something strange and realized I could hear the wind rusting the leaves in the trees high overhead. However, it was when I heard rhe songbirds singing, that I realized how much I had missed and also the shortcomings of my former hearing aids. Bob Z PS: don't wait, don't miss Life!
