Allison Hughes, Au.D

Allison Hughes, Au.D. received a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Fairfield University, a Master Degree in Audiology from Northwestern University and her Au.D. in Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Since then, she has held clinical positions at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, ENT offices and private clinical facilities. She is licensed as both an Audiologist and hearing aid dispenser. Dr. Hughes’ passion focuses on improved communication through the use of amplification and aural rehabilitation for adult and geriatric populations. She takes pride in providing her patients with a comprehensive and personalized approach to the selection, fitting and follow-up care of hearing aids to ensure a comfortable and effective outcome.

My husband picked up his new hearings aids today. It was our third visit to the audiologist, Dr. Allison Hughes, from American Hearing Center in Montvale, NJ. If anyone in your family is on the fence about needing hearing aids or is thinking about new hearing aids, please visit Dr. Hughes. She is patient, compassionate, will take time to explain all types of aids, the pros and cons and will never push you if you are undecided. My husband and I are confident that this purchase will be life changing. It is very challenging dealing with a family member who does not hear what’s going on and you can tell when they’re not taking part in the family conversations (good or not so good). We’re all looking forward to getting the real GS back. Thank you, Dr. Hughes. P. S. She is beautiful inside and out. You can tell at your first meeting that she is very sincere and wants to help.

Great experience overall. Didn’t have to wait much to see the doctor. Clean, friendly, and plenty of room to space out in the waiting room. The doctor spends the time understanding the issue, doing the proper testing, and recommending next steps. If you’re experiencing hearing issues, I would highly recommend.

I arrived to my appointment 10 mins late due to traffic issue. The receptionist told me that my appointment was for 1130 and i am 25 mins late. Although i showed her the text message confirming my 1145 appointment she rudely told me that i can not be accommodated and need to reschedule. I do not recall EVER being treated so rudely. I am a healthcare provider my self and can assure you that many of our patients are 10-15 mins late and we make the best effort to accommodate and if unable too, at least treat them with the most respect!!!!

Brought my elderly mom in as she was convinced one of her 8 year old hearing aids from this place had finally given out. Mind you, their life span is more like 5-6 years. The gal there cleaned them which corrected the issue and handed them back to her free of charge. She was kind and patient and gave my mother good advice for the future as they will eventually have to be replaced. . My extended family has been coming here for 40+ years (used to be called Troast).

Troast has helped me with my hearing aids for several years and has always been prompt, courteous, and professional. I like the personalized feeling I get when I go in; they ask about my family and how we are doing…it’s a nice environment and a business that I feel good about patronizing! The last time I was in they took the time to show me another option for my hearing loss, the Caption Phone. Prior to that I was unaware that this government-funded program existed. I had the phone installed and it’s been a huge help!! I will certainly continue to give Troast my business.

Troast Hearing is excellent!! They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are highly professional as well as personally and kind. I'm a 43 year old man wear hearing aids since I was a 3 years old. So I certainly know audiologists!!!! Their goal is to make sure you are able to hear as well as possible and up to date on all the technology innovations that will help you achieve your goals.
