When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Hearing loss tends to develop gradually and is often noticeable to close friends and family well before the affected individual realizes it. Identifying and treating hearing loss promptly is crucial. Ignoring it could lead to significant long-term effects, such as increased risk of depression and dementia.

I've had hearing aids for 20 years - never cared for them but work and grief from family and friends made them necessary. The constant pressure I felt from loved ones prompted me to give it a try once more, knowing that technology had changed since my last pair. I chose Brooke at AudioNova when my guy retired. Mind blown...Brooke was so easy to work with and exhibited the same caring traits as my prior guy (but much prettier..lol, but I digress). The hearing test confirmed what I already knew but the options available today were so much more advanced than my last time through this. Having been so frustrated over the years Brooke introduced me to the I90-Sphere. I walked out of that office in absolute awe...giggling in fact. These instruments blew my mind. I have ZERO wind noise outdoors, the "noise" suppression is beyond words to the good. I've never been able to hear so good in all my years of "the best" hearing aids I've purchased. No "tinny" noise in a restaurant, I can now blue-tooth to my phone and listen to anything I want, I can tweak the sound quality as I wish with my phone and even find my instruments if I misplace them. And they don't 'conk out' when I sweat heavy. These I90 Spere devices ... I just can't put into words the impact they've made in my life. 5 stars to Brooke, AudioNova and the Phonak Sphere.

I am a fan! One of the best health related decisions I have made was to try Darr for my hearing needs. The Starkey product is performing extremely well and far exceeds what I’ve had for the previous 12-ish years. A visit with Brooke and Gina is more like coming to see friends … very warm and inviting and always super responsive to things that come up along the way. This is what a professional relationship should be. 12/16/22 update Coming up on 1 yr with my Starkey- in the ear canal -aids and I couldn’t be happier. I feel like a normal, natural hearing person again and give no thought whatsoever to having hearing aids in my ears. Streaming to my phone is a godsend and interaction between the 2 is flawless and natural with perfect clarity . The regular follow up visits are fast and pleasant. Brooke and Gina are more like friends than Dr/patient and things feel so casual. I give gratitude nearly every day now that I can function normally and it’s been a real difference maker in my life! Thanks to everyone.
