When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Hearing loss tends to develop gradually and is often noticeable to close friends and family well before the affected individual realizes it. Identifying and treating hearing loss promptly is crucial. If you have insurance and are trying to get hearing aids his way. Don’t bother! They don’t want your business! Very bad! I made an appointment in Feb only to be cancelled the day before. So I wait another 2 months for an appointment for April 3,2025 8:45 only to be cancelled again on my way there. Telling me that there is no heat in the building. Takes me 1 1/2 hours to get there. I told them that I am on my way and that I don’t care that there is no heat. Waited long enough, not going to be cancellation again and another 2 month wait. I get there 20 minutes later and they have heat. Very warm in there office!!! Very nasty attitude when I got there and all the way through until she talked to my insurance company and she was so sweet to them, only to turn around and be nasty to me again. I was going to get my hearing aids from her only to decide after I left they didn’t deserve my business. Called my insurance company and told them. Reported them! Later that day (because their attitude sucked) I had made another appointment with another audiologist. She took me right in. The testing I had done at the last facility was so much more thorough than this one that wanted to cancel me. So happy they were rude to me because I got the right kind of testing done instead of half way testing! I would avoid this audiologist like the plague if you have insurance!!!! This is the voice message I got on my way there: Calling Please Please give us a call before you leave your house We need To reschedule…”. My appointment was at 8:45. I received this message about 20 minutes before I got there after driving an hour

The receptionist wasn’t very friendly and after I filled out a mountain of paperwork she tells me that I was late and the whole test can’t be done! So I left I’m sure someone wants my business 😡

Great experience. Brittany was very helpful trouble shooting and fixing a hearing aid I had received from another provider. I moved to Newport last year, so it's great to have a hearing specialist closer than 2 hours away.

I left Armstrongs after purchasing the Premier (most expensive) pair of aids feeling brushed off by Brittney. After asking her to lower her loud voice which hurt my head, she basically said "get used to it." Customer service makes a huge difference to me. She gets 2 stars there, she did the hearing test OK.
