Matthew Sabo, Au.D., CCC-A

Matthew Sabo, Au.D., received his Doctorate of Audiology from East Tennessee State University in 2021. A native of Bluefield, WV, and a licensed audiologist and hearing aid specialist in Virginia, Dr. Sabo specializes in testing and treating hearing loss in adult and pediatric patients and has an extensive background in tinnitus management and vestibular testing. Dr. Sabo is an active member of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). He has also provided care at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN, and worked closely with Otolaryngologists in Lexington, KY. Dr. Sabo enjoys working with patients and their families to find solutions to communicative disorders existing in daily life and prioritizes maintaining a patient and family-centered approach to hearing loss and tinnitus treatment. Dr. Sabo has found that the most rewarding part of his job is seeing the smiles of patients and family members following the treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus. Outside of work, Dr. Sabo enjoys sports, movies, and traveling.

We are on vacation and one of my hearing aids died! I couldn't enjoy my time with family on Sunday. First thing Monday morning I started calling trying to find someone that could fix them. I had an excellent, comprehensive hearing test with Dr. Megan. She reprogrammed my 2 year old hearing aids, making them work better. She did not try to sell me new ones as my current ones were good and they did not need replacement at this time. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I will return.

So far the hearing aids are a blessing. I can hear much better. A soft voice I still have a little problem hearing but everything else is wonderful. I love the way I can answer my phone & talk to others. I can hear & understand what the person on the other end are saying. The first time having my hearing checked and I could not ask for a better experience. From the moment I walked in the door the receptionist was super nice and friendly. The doctor was very nice and explained everything he was doing and why. He had excellent rapport. He listened and answered all my questions. I highly recommend New Level Hearing Care.

Dr Sabo was very patient, courteous and professional. Even though I was not able to wear my hearing aids at this time. I told him I would be back when I got totally deaf LOL and he said he would be glad to help me then.😊 My problem had nothing to do with the doctor or the hearing aids.

The staff were super friendly and very helpful. They did NOT try to do high pressure upselling or try to sell me services I really didn't need. I had to go to this location to get my hearing aid adjusted/programmed because my local audiologist does not work with my hearing aid brand. At Next Level Hearing, audiologist Mathew said he used to work with the Veterans Administration (KUDOS Matt) and had worked with many makes and models of hearing aids, over the years, and was happy he could help me with mine. He asked many questions to assure I was satisfied with the programming and aswered any questions I had. Will likely return here should I need another hearing aid in the future! .

I have honestly considered going somewhere else, because of the girl that works in the office. She is the first impression of this facility and is a very poor impression. She is extremely rude and cold. She does not acknowledge you when you arrive or when you leave. She does not smile and just give you a cold hard look as though you are an imposition. She is very disrespectful. When my daughter called to schedule an appointment, her response was, “she was just here in December, why is she coming back?” My daughter informed me that she was very rude to her throughout the scheduling of the appointment. Not that it is any of her business but every time that I have been in was at the recommendation of my ENT doctor to determine if the course of treatment is working or if we need to adjust. She is not a doctor and should not question the recommendation of a doctor. The only reason that I have continued with Next Level is because of Dr. Matthew Sabo. He genuinely cares and is very kind. He is very professional and takes the time to explain everything. I did bring this to his attention but he informed me that he was not responsible for hiring. This girl should not be working with the public at all. Some people may already feel very vulnerable due to hearing issues and to be treated so rudely and disrespectfully is totally uncalled for and does not leave a good impression for this facility. As much as I like and trust Dr. Matthew Sabo, I may still seriously consider going elsewhere because I find it very degrading to be treated this way.

MY hearing has been going for some time and I decided to do something about as I was tired of missing conversations and asking "Huh" or "What" all the time. Matt not only tested me, but explained what he was doing for each test. I also was pleasantly surprised that the cost of the hearing aides were not quite as expensive as I thought they would be. I don’t want want to leave this review but I have to say I’m deeply disappointed! My entire family has been going to your facility for at least six months! We have always been extremely satisfied until the last couple of months! There used to be this bright cheerful friendly young girl Emily at the front desk! She was always so friendly and giggly when she would call to confirm appointments or when you arrived! Now there is this new young girl who isn’t polite or friendly! She calls to confirm appointments and she is as cold as ice! When you arrive at the facility she doesn’t acknowledge you at all! Just gives you this dead look! No hi doesn’t ask who you are and doesn’t even smile! When and if she says anything she is just down right rude and disrespectful! It would be nice to be acknowledged with a hi or have a good day or even a bye! But you get nothing! On the phone she doesn’t say goodbye just hangs up! She makes you feel like she doesn’t have time to talk to you! We all miss the smiles and friendly conversations we used to have while we were there and the phone calls! Miss Emily could always put a smile on your face in person or on the phone! Now we feel like we are a burden to this new young lady! And she refers to Mrs. Hinkley as Mary instead of using her title! To us this is very disrespectful and very unprofessional! We have to say Mary is still absolutely wonderful and always cheerful! We will continue to visit the facility and Mary! Just wanted you to know how this young lady makes people feel!

This place is absolutely amazing! Mary was extremely knowledgeable in explaining all the options to me. This was my first time considering hearing aids. I wasn’t excited about getting them but she helped me understand what I was missing! She has been great at making all the adjustments I needed along the way! She treated me like family!
