Meet Our Staff
Michelle Stephens, Au.D.
Michelle Stephens, Au.D., is a dedicated Doctor of Audiology at the AudioNova Cincinnati clinic. She has been an audiologist for over 10 years, specializing in audiologic assessments and hearing aid services for the adult population. In addition, Michelle has experience providing cochlear implant and osseo-integrated device services. She enjoys working with a wide range of hearing losses, including severe to profound cases. Michelle completed her undergraduate studies in Speech and Hearing Sciences at The Ohio State University in 2009 and earned her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the same institution in 2013. Her favorite part of her work is making a positive impact on people’s lives by improving their hearing and quality of life. Having grown up in Ohio and recently returned after practicing out of state for 11 years, she is thrilled to be back home.

When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Hearing loss tends to develop gradually and is often noticeable to close friends and family well before the affected individual realizes it. Identifying and treating hearing loss promptly is crucial. Ignoring it could lead to significant long-term effects, such as increased risk of depression and dementia.

You told me there was a charge when I went back to have my hearing aids checked. But then I got a coupon for a free check $50 gift cards if I checked your products. This definitely help me change my attitude about this location to become more positive. I'll be interested in checking out the equipment later this year after paid off my glasses.

Poor customer service. No follow back call. They said my older hearing aids could be fixed and charged me $1000 then called me back later in the day saying they could not be fixed. They refunded my money but why didn’t they check on that before they charged my card? Had no other suggestions for me when I could not afford $6000 hearing aids and insurance did not cover them.

I got a soliciting phone call from this place offering me a free hearing test (they likely billed my Medicare insurance and that's fine). They said I could get a free ($15?) gift card for coming. It was a bit of a challenge to get there on the bus. I got off at a wrong stop and ended up having to walk about a mile afterwards. They were very cordial after getting there late. They mentioned when I made the appointment that I would get a gift card, never got it. The hearing test revealed that my hearing was going, that made sense since I remember during that timeframe I was asking people to repeat themselves a lot. I did tell them that I was a veteran and was eligible for hearing services at my local VA hospital. After the hearing test I asked for a copy of the results, $18. No problem and expected to take care of that the following month so my PCP could see a baseline for my hearing results. Tried calling to get the results but never got through. The audiologist was a very nice lady. End result is they expected to try selling me hearing aids.

The tests were EXCELLENT, the only issue I had was a paper in the letter they sent to me stating if I made an appointment before December 20 AND finished the test they would award a $100 gift card. That didn’t happen because you had to order hearing aids, which I DID NOT require!!!!

This used to be The Place for Better Hearing. Since it has been bought out by Ohio Hearing and Audiology, it has gone steadily downhill. Currently, there is not even one audiologist on staff. They cannot even adjust your current hearing aids to the level needed. Their only concern is selling you the most expensive equipment available. Save yourself time, money, and stress and go to an actual audiologist.

Tana always takes good care of my Mom. She checks to see if ear wax needs to be cleaned out of her ears. She cleans the hearing aids, and she makes sure her hearing aids are at the right volume.

The parking lot was empty. Their hearing aids are very expensive, upwards of 4,000 dollars. They say they help the elderly hear but they are ripping them off with high financed hearing aids that irritate behind the ears. Not rated with the BBB. Beware and avoid this business.
