When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?

I had my reservations about going to this business, only because it is located in an unsettling area, Hoosick, Troy. However, I was greeted with friendly smiles from the staff ( not so welcoming stares by the couple waiting to be seen however). Once in the office room, my appointment was pleasant, and professional. Patience was offered and thankfully received, I was given all the information needed to make an informed decision. I HIGHLY recommend AudioNova for its professional staff and integrity when dealing with patients!

Being in the hearing industry myself, I have access to many providers. When it became apparent that hearing aids were no longer the best option for me, I relied on the advice and recommendations of Dr. Rietz. Dr. Rietz provided me with excellent care post my surgery for Cochlear Osia Bone Anchored Hearing Aids. She did a thorough activation of my new devices and communicated regularly with my surgeon. Dr. Reitz and Mary Beth, the Patient Care Coordinator, provided the best customer care for my hearing aids and now for my Cochlear needs. I couldn't recommend this office more.

8/16/22. Update: after several months with new aides, it was ‘checkup’ time. I was very surprised that the audiologist had left for another position and while the person that saw me was well versed in what needed to be done; I guess I would have expected an email or text to know that the person I thought was ‘my’ audiologist had moved on. " After my Audiologist of several years retired, I was quite apprehensive about finding the right group to trust my hearing needs to. I found the entire visit professional and easy to process through. Jessica was excellent in her approach and at answering all my questions. The staff was personable and office well kept. I’m well pleased "

I have been wearing hearing aids since my early 30s for a congenital hearing loss that has become significantly worse in recent years. I have a special needs child with speech and language issues so my hearing loss only compounded our communication problems. My hearing loss affected my ability to follow along in important meetings at work and to generally communicate in my everyday life. Over the twenty plus years I have been wearing hearing aids I have dealt with many different providers. My last two pair of hearing aids were fitted by Tara at Gabriel-Moran. She did such a great job fitting and maintaining the first pair, I didn't even consider going elsewhere for the second. My concerns have always been addressed professionally and her advice has been invaluable. Moreover, Tara's kind and compassionate support in addressing my decreasing ability to hear was uncommon and the hearing aids she recommended have truly changed my life. I have and will continue to recommend Gabriel-Moran and Tara without hesitation.
