Effie Sullivan, HCP

Effie Sullivan, is a dedicated Hearing Care Specialist that helps many people who struggle with hearing loss. Effie earned her BA from Hunter College in NYC, and she was later certified as a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist by the State Board Exam of New Jersey. Committed to leading individuals with hearing loss to better hearing, Effie treats every one of her patients with courtesy, professionalism, and dedication. She strives to educate both her patients and their families about the benefits of today’s innovative hearing aid technology. Effie’s goal is to increase awareness about the consequences of untreated hearing loss in her community and bring awareness to the importance of hearing care, which can help people live a more meaningful and happier life.

Effy introduced me to the new phonak and run me through the details this has to offer . This is not my first hearing aids but my experience with Effy was by the best .She did not rush and she answered all my questions. I would not hesitate to to recommend Effy to anyone needing hearing aids. Shirley , the receptionist and he lady who processed my loan were very nice . This office is by the way very clean!

Reviews are bogus! This is an unprofessional, disorganized dump. When I scheduled my appointment, I was told they accepted my insurance. Then on the day of the appointment I was told they don't accept my insurance. Wasting my time. Pass it up!

5 star experience. Terry the receptionist is so friendly and makes me feel welcome. Then Effie checks my hearing and explains all of the results to me so that I understand what treatment I need. She programs my hearing aids and tries really hard to lessen my tinnitus and improve my hearing. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my hearing needs.

Easy to schedule an appointment, staff very friendly and all my questions and concerns were answered. I’m new to having hearing aids so I don’t have any more interactions to report. Have a new hearing test ahead and I know several people who have never had a follow up hearing test though not customers of AHC.

Had an appointment at 3 o'clock and had no waiting. Couldn't fix my hearing aid but sent it out and gave me a loaner so it was better than not hearing at all until my hearing aid is fixed.

We’re not even actually regular patients here, because they don’t do pediatrics, but my daughter had a problem with her hearing aids and they generously immediately agreed to help. Did a great job and really solved the problem for us. So appreciate their total willingness to help!

I saw them prior to Pandemic and was impressed by the staff's efficiency and kindness, especially understanding that I needed to wait before making this investment. Fast forward to April 2022; I was asked to provide records to an employer and even though I had not been able to purchase hearing aids from here yet due to financial difficulty during Covid (laid off from college teaching due to low enrollment), Terry and the rest of the team located and forwarded my records. To us purchasing hearing aids is a huge undertaking. Modern technology is only a piece of the experience. The technician fitting and fine tuning the instruments, really is the piece that makes for a positive or negative outcome. My husband's experience with his purchase 5 years ago with a different agency was NOT positive. However, recently, both he and I visited American Hearing Centers in Upper Montclair, and our experience was most positive from our dealings with the receptionist, Terry, through testing, fitting and follow up with Effie Sullivan. She really knows the technology and implements and adapts it to each patient's needs with patience and care, explaining everything in detail. We highly recommend her to all.

My hearing had been bad for several years and was getting worse when I came to Micro Instruments two and a half years ago and Effie has basically given me a new life by being most encouraging and making sure my hearing aid is in top shape and that I am comfortable at all times.She is also aware that I am on a fixed income every month which limits the amount of money I have to devote to my hearing loss and goes out of her way to help me address this issue besides which she is one of the sweetest human beings on the planet. The same goes for her co-pilot Terry who schedules my appointments and makes sure to remind me of them as well as making sure that I am feeling well and up to keeping my appointments.She too is an angel to deal with. I would recommend visiting these two incredible ladies without reservation,and there is probably no better specialist in hearing care than Effie. Sh ,along with Terry, have given me the joy of hearing again after many years of everyone having to shout at me.

I recently visited Micro Instruments in Upper Montclair to evaluate my hearing problem. It was easy to make an appointment and when I arrived, I was seen immediately. My evaluation was very professional yet warm and friendly. After the evaluation, I was offered several choices to help my problem.
