Janis Jenkins, Au.D

Dr. Janis Jenkins has been practicing Audiology for over 20 years. She is a member of the American-Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). In addition to being a Doctor of Audiology, she is also a licensed hearing aid dispenser. Dr. Jenkins is currently the provider for the Hillsborough, NJ office of AudioNova. The aspect she enjoys most about being an audiologist is getting to know her patients and their families over the years. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending time with her family and visiting art museums. “My goal as a hearing healthcare provider is to improve the communication ability of my patients in order to keep them connected to their family, friends and community. Educating patients and their families about hearing loss and providing excellent service is my primary focus.”

The audiologist at Hillsborough in the nicest most patient funny service provider I work with. I thought ai had one “good ear” and she patiently convinced me and showed me that my hearing was impaired in both. I purchased two aides and i’m much more involved in conversations at our table (and honestly at other people’s tables too!) She helps me with care steps (wax tip replacements) as i am not the best at this easy task. She greets me each time with a happy smile evidencing American Hearinh value is AFTER sale support in a very personalized …as many visits as you make… way.

Dr. Jenkins is wonderful. She is experienced, professional, and highly skilled. She has a great understanding of the different types of hearing loss and she is totally familiar with the electronics, both for the devices in her office and in the hearing aids. Dr. Jenkins listened carefully as I explained my situation and she understood what was required. She gave me a complete hearing test, then carefully explained how to understand the results of the test. She set up a new pair of hearing aids for me to try on a trial basis, all of which took two hours and was free. I was especially impressed that she cautioned me as to the limits of what I might hope to gain from hearing aids. The manufacturers are over the top with their claims that the ultimate hearing aid which you have been waiting for, has finally arrived. Dr. Jenkins explained the benefits and limitations of the current models. Her appointment calendar is very busy with good reason: she must be one of the top audiologists in the state.

I would give 6 stars if I could. Dr. Jenkins was attentive, cordial and extremely helpful. She answered any and all of our questions, and was extremely thorough and understanding during hearing testing. She even called the help hotline and helped us run numerous technical tests in order to figure out a problem related to old hearing aids. Even more, she acted extremely humanely (putting us, the patients, first) when faced with a problem in regards to obtaining new hearing aids. Highly recommend. Thank you Dr. Jenkins!
