When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Rebecca was awesome! She explained about how to clean my hearing aids which was very helpful. She took her time and gave me the supplies I needed for future cleaning to maintain the hearing aids. And she set up a hearing test which I was overdue for.

UPDATE: It has been over 1 week and I have had no contact from American Hearing after they told me I would be contacted by a manager...........Went to the Flemington, NJ office on 8/1/2024 as they called me to come in for a cleaning. The man took my hearing aids and went to another room and said he had cleaned them. He was trying to sell me new hearing aids because he did not clean them. I went to an audiologist today and they said they were not cleaned and now my hearing aids are working very good.

I had been seeing another audiologist, but she moved out of the area so I was very excited to be able to see Sue again. I had met with her years ago for a consultation, but ultimately stuck with my previous audiologist. I am so happy to now use Sue with American Hearing Center. She takes time, really listens to your concerns and learns about your specific needs and wants for your hearing. I'm relatively younger and have the opposite type of hearing loss that is normally associated with aging and Sue was able to get me hearing better than I have in years. Another bonus to using this center was the ability to book an appointment online. As a hearing impaired individual, you can imagine that talking on the phone is not my favorite thing to do so this was a wonderful option! Thank you so much!

We had a great experience at American Hearing Centers with Sue Clampitt. She is a very caring audiologist and did a wonderful job with my 9 year-old son. We didn't feel rushed during the exam as she took time to get to know us. She was thorough in her diagnostics. The receptionist was cheerful and engaging in conversation with my son as well. Even though this office is not advertised as pediatric they were extremely kid friendly and my son felt at ease. We will definitely be returning for future exams.

If I could give a 10-star rating, I would do it! I had to make an unscheduled visit because of error on my part that seemed to disable my bluetooth pairing with my hearing aids. It was amazing! With kindness and patience, every one of my needs was met from directing me as we drove (we got lost) to having me go into the lavatory to flush and turn on water to be sure the devices were perfectly set. No detail was overlooked before I left the office. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Diana is great at confirming appointments and assisting with the processes for insurance claims. My daughter was aided in hearing aid adjustments and fitting for new hearing aids. I miss Danielle but I have to say I was both surprised and pleased to see Sue as Diana's replacement! You see she's been my audiologist before at a different company. I left that company regrettably because of exorbitant pricing on hearing aides. That's when I found American hearing some 4-5 yes ago! I am so happy to be under Sue's care again! She is so good and knowledgeable. If she doesn't know something she quickly finds the answer! Sue is obviously committed to her profession and is a fun and caring person! I love how she handles testing my mother in law,who has dementia. That's not even a challenge for Sue! I feel I'm in good hands at American hearing, they bend over backwards to accommodate me with 430 appt for my mother in law and 730 am for me so I don't have to take off work for an appt! I had a new pair of hearing aids,a company I wasn't used to. I didn't like them, no problem, I got fitted for different ones with the company I have used for so many years. Sue was very understanding and supportive! (My go to brand is Starkey btw). I cannot say enough good things about American hearing...from the good prices to the quality and care of service! I've been dealing with hearing aids for 36 years, since 26 years old. I'm opinionated,critical and I've been around the block! Sure costco is cheaper but the quality of aides and service does not compare with American hearing center! Other companies such as those owned by Dr's and audiologist and some various other companies are way more expensive than AHC! I've tried the rest,I'll stick with the BEST!

Hi Danielle and Diana, I had a courtesy appt. on Feb 1 to check on my new aides. But was that day of the awful 2021 blizzard. I did call to cancel but figured you probably would not have made it to the office, so I went online and left what I thought was a note to you. Hope you got it. Have been busy but wanted to touch base with you re: my new Livio Hearing aids. Oh my gosh, I LOVE THEM. Thank you so much, Danielle, for recommending that I try them, after I had to cancel my surgery. I’m sure I will eventually have to have it, but for now, I cannot believe the difference. My hearing is unbelievably stronger. I love the tip you gave me re: Thrive on my smartphone. Use it all the time. Family listening to TV. I just temporarily turn up my hearing aids either, with Thrive or adjust them on the phone. I love the musical scale it plays when I take them off the charger in the am, that ends with a musical note. LOL The real test with the feature was on Easter Sunrise Service. At 6:30 and 10 AM, our church, which sits on the river, held our first outdoor services. Traffic going up and down the street, geese yelling and divebombing in the river for breakfast, birds chirping, etc. I decided I would try the feature, so before I turned off my phone, I jacked it up (I know I can do right on the aids but it’s fun on the cellphone.) The minister was a good 20-30 feet from me but sounded like he was right in front of me, (and he has a soft voice). I was sold. About Thrive: Sometimes, I feel that there is an imbalance in my hearing, check on phone and sure enough a red light is on to show me that Thrive cannot locate it. I check the one it shows and sometimes I just need to put it in charger for a second, or sometimes I just need to secure it better in my ear. Red light goes off. I’m, good to go. The real purpose for my note, it just to let you know how very, very happy I am with the Livio aids. Sounds like a commercial, but I think we have a winner here. Thanks again. See you soon. My Mom's Hearing Aids were malfunctioning while she was in a temporary nursing facility. I asked about having them cleaned and was told to bring them in. I was taken care of in a professional, kind manner. Fantastic service!
