Kadyn Shoults, Au.D.
Kadyn Shoults, Au.D., is an Audiologist at AudioNova in the Topsham clinic, specializing in diagnostics, hearing aid fittings, and tinnitus management. He has diverse clinical experience, having worked in hospital, ENT, and private practice settings during his academic journey. Kadyn earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences, with a minor in Psychology, from Marshall University in 2021. He later obtained his Doctor of Audiology degree from West Virginia University in 2025. Passionate about patient care, he enjoys building meaningful connections and helping individuals achieve optimal hearing health. Outside of work, Kadyn and his wife enjoy beachcombing and spending time at home with their two beloved pets.

When should I use hearing protection?
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Hearing loss tends to develop gradually and is often noticeable to close friends and family well before the affected individual realizes it. Identifying and treating hearing loss promptly is crucial. We had the absolute best experience here. My gramp was pneumonia hospice and bed bound, they made a house call because he lost his hearing aides, did a hearing screening and placed loaners aides in his ears. We were so excited he could finally here. They were so kind and polite, sadly 3 days after my gramp passed, we were so thankful he could hear in those last days. The officer sent us a heartfelt card afrer I called them to report we unfortunately would not be needing to buy a pair as gramp passed. Would reccomended them to everyone!

Was worried about how my appointment would go with Jackie no longer there but was please with the way I was taken care of by Sarah. Could not have been happier. I became a client here before the business became AudioNova. Having three difficult hearing issues, I needed an audiologist with good experience. I got new hearing aids and had a great experience with my audiologist. When I went back six months later, and after receiving no notice whatsoever, my audiologist had left the group to be replaced by only a young ‘technician’ with very little experience and rather inept patient care abilities. Despite my complaint that something felt wrong, my hearing aids were adjusted incorrectly and I had to go elsewhere to have them fixed. I tried to contact the management of Audio Nova after this awful experience and was never responded to. As with many places offering lower levels of client service these days, AudioNova appears to be aimed at turning into more of a hearing aid store than one where clients heath and needs are cared for. At my own expense, I will have to seek a qualified audiologist elsewhere. Several friends have left the practice for the same reason.

I went a long time denying that I needed to see an audiologist. I'm a musician and have worked in radio my whole professional life. The staff at True North/AudioNova in Topsham couldn't have been kinder or more welcoming. Jacqui Stagg, who did my hearing screening, turned out to be a fellow musician, a fellow progressive rock fan, and incredibly knowledgeable. The appointment was fascinating (even when we weren't getting sidetracked with music). My fitting with Bryan was a revelation-- and he guided me with no pressure at all about what hearing devices would be best for me for work and music. When the day came to get the actual hearing aids, the team spent plenty of time getting me prepared and answering as many questions as I had. In the weeks after, I had two follow up appointments with Dr. Lindsay, who is just as knowledgeable, kind, and fascinating as Jacqui. The front office staff is always great, too, helping with scheduling and insurance arrangements. Life has improved more than I can say since I finally made the leap-- I had no idea how much I was missing until I started getting it back again. As I type this review I'm listening to Led Zeppelin "IV", soaking up and appreciating every note. Thank you the Topsham AudioNova folks-- looking forward to a long relationship with a great company!

While my first appointment was great and informative regarding the types of hearing aides and what would be suited to me… it went down hill after that. My hearing aides took 6 weeks to come in. I needed to reschedule my first fitting appointment and called three different times no one answered my call and I finally left a message waited 3 days no return call so I called Amplifon to reschedule. My fitting appointment was rushed in and out in 1/2 hour I left overwhelmed. At the desk to schedule a follow up and I couldn’t get for my first appointment after being fitted for 5 weeks. When I got home I took the card out and saw that the receptionist had put another patients name on my appointment card so I called and spoke to another office who thankfully answered the phone to find that no, I was not booked to come in for a follow up. Strike 2.. I called the office 3 days after my fitting because I was hearing no better with my hearing aide in than when it was out. The receptionist answers from another office I told him my concerns and that I had more questions he said he’d relay the message that I needed to speak to my audiologist. I then got a call back from that receptionist and was told he spoke to my audiologist and that I needed to give it time to adjust and call back the beginning of the following week. I’m not happy I expect a certain level of customer service especially being a new customer and to not receive a call back from my audiologist who couldn’t take the time to call me and address my concerns is not acceptable. Fortunately for me when I called after noticing my appointment card had another name on it the person who answered the phone from another location found me an appointment time 1 week from my fitting and told me that I shouldn’t be waiting 5 weeks for my first follow up. I have an appointment this coming week and I’m very seriously considering handing in the hearing aide and calling Amplifon to send me to another clinic. Unexceptable customer service.

I went in to see if I needed hearing aids and the results showed I did. I was given the hearing test, then I was fitted for hearing aids. I got my wonderful hearing aids in 2 days. I was amazed! I wear my hair short so I was afraid the hearing aids would show but they don't. Everyone I asked said they couldn't tell I was wearing them. The staff was very friendly and very professional. I would recommend them if you need hearing aids.

Everyone was professional but I did not like being set up with someone after my hearing test, to sell me new hearing aides. It was not made clear to me that I was agreeing to this.
