David Kuczewski, H.I.S.

David Kuczewski is a Hearing Instrument Specialist and a hearing care provider from Gorham, Maine, working at the AudioNova Portland and Scarborough locations. David has been in practice since May 2013, working to help countless families stay connected through better hearing and communication. David completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Maine in Orono. Additionally, he earned Maine licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist. David is also a member of the International Hearing Society. David’s favorite aspect of audiology is helping patients enjoy life to the fullest by assisting them to hear better. David enjoys educating patients and spreading awareness of cognitive preservation through treatment. He also loves to focus on holistic hearing care to help patients live safely long term. David is a devoted family man to his high school sweetheart and four children. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors together.

Nathan Hamblin, H.I.S.

Nathan Hamblin, also known as Nate, H.I.S., is a Hearing Instrument Specialist for AudioNova in the Portland and Scarborough clinics. His clinical specialties include administering hearing tests and fitting patients with hearing aids. He takes pride in being able to help people hear the world again. Nate attended the University of Southern Maine, graduated in 2018, and majored in Communications. His favorite part of working as a hearing care provider is helping people hear and converse again, especially with the ones they love.

My last visit at the Scarborough was excellent. My complaint is I had a scheduled an annual appointment in your Portsmouth office and when I arrived a note on the door said the office was closed. I had traveled 2 hours to make that appointment and was very upset that nobody bothered to call me prior to traveling there. I also discovered that the results from my 2023 hearing test was never programmed into my hearing aids and a premium feature that I paid for was never turned on.

I have been a patient of David Kuczewski for over three years now, and I feel quite fortunate to be working with him. He is extremely knowledgeable about SSCD and how it may impact my use of hearing aids. He not only is a good listener as to my needs, but he also encourages my input. David has always been highly professional when dealing with me, and he honestly discusses best hearing aid options for me, given my professional needs. In addition to his excellent qualifications and experience, David always encourages any feedback or concerns I might be having around my aids. When reaching out to him, he is prompt at getting back to me, always providing possible solutions. He is diligent about getting his patients in to the office when an emergency occurs, and because of his knowledge around products and his overall expertise, emergencies seldom exist. I always feel I am receiving the best information, products and service when working with David. I will continue to be a patient at True North, working with David, as I progress with my hearing needs.

Initial consultation exceeded my expectations. David listened to my concerns and offered an excellent option. He explained the process thoroughly and seemed genuinely interested in providing the right device for my particular hearing loss which was caused by Meniere's disorder.

Thanks and kudos to the True North team for their guidance as they recently fitted me for hearing aids. I’d had an unsuccessful experience with a particular device brand, and I was reluctant to try again. But after testing me and identifying my need, David patiently walked me through options and answered all my questions and concerns. He is most knowledgeable and straightforward. That said, I’ve never purchased a ‘protection policy’ for high-ticket items, such as appliances, TV’s, camera gear, etc. But I ignored my instincts and purchased the insurance policy for my hearing aids. I’ve concluded it was not money well spent. When one hearing aid recently failed, I called True North six times over a week for help. I only got through to the front desk associate, and never spoke with David despite multiple messages.

The hearing aids are slightly better than the ones they are replacing. Service was perfect. 2 days later we found the lost hearing aid.
