I have seen them for the initial hearing test, hearing aid fitting, and a follow-up visit and at each visit everything was very professional, courteous and efficient. Renee was outstanding! She explained everything thoroughly, and corrected several issues with my devices. And taught me things about using the aides that I did not know about.

2nd update. Back to 5 stars. Went back another 2 times. Explained that my left aid was still popping out. She gave me a longer wire, and with the larger bell, now seems to work very well and is not popping out anymore. Emma also terminated the receptionist, who apparently was making errors with other people's appointments also. After a little bit of miscommunication, I can now highly re-recommend Emma. Very knowledgeable and provides good customer service. Update 4 weeks later from earlier review. Went back to see Emma, and it was like she had never met me before, even though this was my third visit. She didn’t seem to have any notes about previous visits. Although she gave me a longer wire because the aid in my left ear kept popping out (at my request), she hadn’t remembered that I had complained about it at the previous visit, and that she had changed the bell size. Very disconcerting. Also, the new receptionist doesn’t seem to have gotten a handle on her job. An appointment that I had made at my previous visit had gotten cancelled for some mysterious reason (She blamed it on the call service, whatever that is. ) It took a day before she responded to my call for a new appointment. Maybe the receptionist is suppose to give Emma notes about my case, but I would have expected them to be on the computer. Now I’m torn whether to continue seeing her, or try to search out a new audiologist. She seemed very competent, but it is really strange to not being recognized. Emma is very helpful and knowledgeable. I wanted to change audiologists, but since my hearing aids were only 3 years old, I didn't particularly want to get new ones so soon. She tuned up my hearing aids to better match my high frequency hearing loss, and gave me instructions on how to insert my aids. Even though I have been wearing aids for 8 years, and I complained that they kept falling out of my ears, she substituted a smaller rubber bell and told me how to properly insert them resting on the top of my ears instead of behind them. She explained the features of the more modern aids, and if the tweeks on my older aids don't work well enough, I will definitely plan on buying new aids from her.

It was the most amazing experience...and I had tried several other audiologist before this...Emma was terrific had made the whole experience really easy....now I can hear again ...thanks ...plus they offered care credit, which made paying for the hearing aids possible ...

Emma is very focus first approach representing customers service needs. I felt very comfortable on her approach to helping solve my hearing aid devices not functioning right for me. Her energy and enthusiasm provided me confidence she would be able help and provide a solution to my devices not servicing me well. I have visited other hearing organizations that made me feel that they just wanted to sell me their product.

Emma is great. She went out of her way to help with a technical issue I was having with my Phonak remote not connecting to my hearing aids. She didn't stop til she got to the bottom of it. Highly recommended. Dani at the front desk is awesome, too!

I went to Joanne today at the recommendation of my husband as my hearing aid broke and I needed to get it fixed as soon as possible. She is delightful and fixed my hearing aid in just a few minutes. I will definitely return for all my hearing aid needs.

My hearing issues are a bit unique. I cannot hear at all in my right ear (I have been deaf in that ear all of my life). I met Joanne Brenner at a Senior Health Fair and mentioned what my problem was and that I had tried a hearing aid (needed two) about 10 to 15 years ago and the technology just was not there to help me. She let me know that technology had improved and that if I wanted to give it a try again to come into their Oakland office. My visit to the office was such a joy. We talked about what situations were important to me, and what type of device I wanted (I wanted something that fit inside the ear). Joanne explained the pros and cons of the cros/bicros (that is what I needed) hearing aids and let me try one. I was sold before I even left the office with my trial aids. Joanne and her staff were wonderful to work with and I can now hear whenever someone speaks on my "deaf" side. I would highly recommend Connect Hearing to anyone having issues. Thank you Joanne.

My husband and I have been working with Joanne for many, many years. She always has the latest information and works hard to see that we get the right equipment and the best/least cost. She is not shy or slow to call the supplier to answer a question. She is generous to a fault when we visit, providing batteries and small tools or supplies we might need to maintain or manage our HA. I have had the pleasure of knowing Joanne Brenner at Connect Hearing in Oakland for years now and she is one of the most conscientious and knowledgeable people I know, especially in regards to hearing loss and hearing aids. Her office is really quite responsive to any hearing aid related questions or problems that i have, and will work with me regarding any concerns i have with my aids themselves, or hearing testing or dealing with my insurance company. Joanne knows how various insurance works and more importantly, is extremely knowledgeable about the various hearing aids themselves and how to set them up and troubleshoot any issues. I had to visit this office for a audiogram test and was surprised by the pleasantry and politeness. Specialist Brenner, Joanne was very professional and provided a excellent service for me. My husband and I are thrilled to have found Joanne Brenner and Connect Hearing. We moved 18 months ago to Alameda and had recently received a notice from the hearing aid provider he used in Santa Rosa that the warranty on his aids was going to expire in 3 days. After three years of continuous use, we knew they needed a check-up, clean-up, etc., and so searched for a Siemen's provider in our area. Thank goodness we found Connect Hearing and Joanne, thanks to the rave reviews on Google! Joanne responded immediately and did some digging, both with the former provider and with Siemen's. She discovered that, if we got the aids to her the next day, she could send them to Siemen's and they would do a thorough inspection and repair, if necessary, and return them in about a week, all under the original warranty. When we arrived at Connect, she made time for us and explained everything that was going to happen. Joanne also did us the great favor of cleaning up my husband's old hearing aids, even replacing the plastic cones and tubes, so that he would be able to hear somewhat while we waited for the return of the Siemen's aids. True to her prediction, we got the call 7 days later and returned to Connect Hearing today. Joanne was happy to be able to present the improved devices to us, complete with new features. They are nearly brand new!!! We are grateful to Joanne for all of her efforts on our behalf, and for her gentle reassurance and good humor. She is the only person we will call when we need more help hearing. Thank you Joanne - you are wonderful!

Nevertheless Connect Hearing, formerly Newport Audiology, located on third floor, has been by my provider for many years. Joanne B. has been and continues to be the best in the business, as I have tried many different companies in the entire SF bay area. I have referred friends and relatives as well. Joanne B. is to be commended for excellent customer service and hearing device recommendations. Clearly 6 stars.........

Our experience with Joanne at the Oakland office has been nothing less than wonderful! Joanne and her staff take excellent care and give us personal attention every visit, no matter how busy their schedule is! (and they are Busy!) We have even had drive up service when we needed new batteries, and couldn't find parking! Knowledgeable, professional, warm, personal and caring.
