Symposium on Effective Tinnitus Management: Today and in the Future
On October 2, 2025, the 9th Sonova Online Symposium focuses on “Effective Tinnitus Management Today and in the Future: What Patients Can Expect.”
The online session aimed at clarifying current challenges in tinnitus management and shaping a future framework that is multidisciplinary, evidence-based, and patient-focused.
Moderator Maren Stropahl, Director Holistic Care at Sonova, was joined by a panel of industry experts:
- Prof. Dr. Rilana Cima, Associate Professor at Maastricht University, Adelante, KU Leuven University
- Prof. Dr. Winfried Schlee, Professor at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, St. Gallen Switzerland and University Clinic Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany
The program began with updates on the Pan-European Clinical Guidelines for Tinnitus Management and moved to psychological factors linked to tinnitus. Dr. Schlee then illustrated the prevalence of tinnitus across Europe and explained 13 causes of the affliction before pivoting to heterogeneity and an explanation of a Decision Support System (DSS). The panel then fielded questions from the chat before wrapping up .
